Naked™ Sheeting and Terry earns USDA Bio-preferred Status

Griffin, GA February 26, 2016 – 1888 Mills Naked™ Modal terry and sheeting has been certified by the USDA as a bio-preferred product. This certification makes 1888’s Naked™ the first terry product to earn the certification and only one of a few in sheeting.

The BioPreferred program was created by the 2002 Farm Bill and expanded as part of the Agricultural Act of 2014. The program's purpose is to spur economic development, create new jobs and provide new markets for farm commodities. The increased development, purchase, and use of Biobased products reduces our nation's reliance on petroleum, increases the use of renewable agricultural resources, and contributes to reducing adverse environmental and health impacts.

“It’s exciting for us to earn this bio-preferred status because Naked is truly a luxury product, but now it’s a luxury product with purpose and means even more to our customers” said Jonathan Sadinoff, SVP of Sales.

The Naked™ Collection is part of 1888 Mills’ Elite product portfolio and is offered to luxury hospitality properties worldwide. The collection is the first hospitality line made with the Modal fiber and was created in partnership with Lenzing™ who tested and certified every product. The collection currently consists of terry bath, sheeting, duvets and shams and 1888 hopes to expand the product in the future.
